This project has been postponed until the ongoing River Oaks Neighborhood Stormwater Improvements Project is completed. Additional information will be shared once the new schedule is confirmed.

The City of Fort Lauderdale and FG Construction (FGC) will be cleaning the stormwater management system in the River Oaks neighborhood. Over the years, sediment and debris may have accumulated within the underground pipes, affecting their efficiency and capacity. Through this project, crews will inspect and clean the system to ensure that it functions optimally during heavy rainfall and mitigates the risk of flooding.

To minimize disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow, this project will be completed in five phases. This project will begin on Monday, November 27, 2023, and is expected to be completed in February 2024. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. 

Traffic Impacts

• Limited lane closures are expected as the contractor will be working primarily within the shoulder of all neighborhood streets.
• Access to driveways will be maintained.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
