About the Division
The Public Works Department's Engineering Division provides project management for upgrades to the City of Fort Lauderdale's infrastructure.
Our team of professional engineers, construction managers, inspectors and administrative personnel provide internal project management, contract administration and development services which benefit our internal and external stakeholders.
Diverse project types include improvements to:

Pelican Cove Road, SW 25 Terrace, and SW 21 Street Asphalt Improvement Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with All County Paving to resurface the road and apply new pavement markings along Pelican Cove Road, SW 25 Terrace, and SW 21 Street in Oak River.
Construction will begin on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, and is expected to be completed by Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Impacts
- Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking along Pelican Cove Road, SW 25 Terrace, and SW 21 Street daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- One lane in each direction of Pelican Cove Road, SW 25 Terrace, and SW 21 Street will be closed daily during work hours. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
- Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of asphalt operations.
- Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
