The work of Employee Relations creates a direct link between the employees, managers and executives.
Employee Relations is responsible for:
Bargaining with four labor organizations that represent the City’s workforce, through six collective bargaining agreements and labor contract administration.
Trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing conflicts and employee grievances.
Training in contract changes and in other related areas.
Conducting research on operational and emerging employer issues and communicate the findings.
Assisting department directors and managers to ensure organizational compliance with labor and employment laws.
Analyzing operational and emerging employer issues and makes recommendations; and assists management in policy and organizational development.
