Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale

Sunrise Key Neighborhood Improvement District
The Sunrise Key Neighborhood Improvement District is a special district authorized by Section 163.516(9) regarding safe neighborhood districts. The Improvement District Board met on May 23, 2023, and approved a millage rate of 1 mill. This revenue and reserves support a FY 2024 adopted budget of $191,312.
Lauderdale Isles Water Management District
The Lauderdale Isles Water Management District was established following the annexation of the Riverland Road area in September 2002 and is a special district authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes to address water quality issues. The district adopted their budget in the amount of $125,929, based upon an assessment of $15.00 per property and other revenue sources. The district’s budget was approved at its March 20, 2023, meeting.

Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)
The City currently has two community redevelopment areas: the Northwest-Progresso-Flagler Heights (NPF) and Central City areas. The redevelopment areas were established to refine the economic health of the designated areas, revitalize the community, and enhance the quality of life for all residents.
Central City Community Redevelopment Area
Central City Community Redevelopment Area is primarily focused on eliminating slum and blighting conditions that promote rehabilitation, conservation, and redevelopment as established in the Central City Redevelopment Plan.
Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Redevelopment Area
Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Redevelopment Area is primarily focused on eliminating slum and blighting conditions that promote rehabilitation, conservation, and redevelopment as established in the Northwest Progresso Flagler Heights Redevelopment Plan.
