To help ease a congested intersection, the City of Fort Lauderdale has incorporated dual left-turn lanes on SE 15th Avenue at Las Olas Boulevard. Now, vehicles headed southbound can turn left out of both lanes.

Previously, this heavily traveled stretch would see a line of cars creeping back on SE 15th Avenue for one, two, or more blocks, causing delays and requiring drivers to sit through multiple red lights. We encourage drivers to be alert at this intersection as the community adapts to the change.

Reducing traffic congestion is a priority of the City Commission, and the addition of a second left turn lane will allow traffic to move more smoothly. An upcoming project will add dual left-turn lanes on SE 15th Avenue at Broward Boulevard.
