Susan Grant
Acting City Manager

Susan Grant started her career with the City of Fort Lauderdale in December 2019, joining the team as Director of Finance.  In that role she oversaw the Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Treasury, and Utility Billing divisions of the City. 

In July 2022, Susan was promoted to Assistant City Manager with oversight of the Finance, Human Resources, and Public Works Departments as well as the Office of Professional Standards and the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.  With over 30 years’ experience in public management, before coming to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Susan spent 27 years in various roles with the City of Coral Springs.

In Coral Springs, Susan served seven years as deputy city manager in addition to time as director of financial services, director of human resources and city controller. During Susan’s time there, she helped guide the City in the successful pursuit of many prestigious awards, including the 2007 Malcolm Baldridge Award and Florida Governor’s Sterling Awards in 2003 and 1997. Coral Springs was the first organization to win the Sterling Award twice. Susan also served as an examiner for both awards, and she currently serves as a judge for the Florida Governor’s Sterling Award.

A University of Florida graduate and a Florida Certified Public Accountant, before entering public service, Susan worked as a chief financial officer, senior financial analyst and senior accountant in the private sector.
