NE 25th Avenue Sewer Force Main Replacement Project

Since construction began on Monday, April 22, 2024, crews have completed underground work and temporary restoration as part of Phase 2 along NE 25th Avenue between Commercial Boulevard and NE 48th Lane. Construction on Phase 3 along NE 25th Avenue from NE 48th Lane to the Coral Ridge Country Club is expected to begin on Monday, June 17. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some overnight work may be required. Overall completion is expected in spring 2025. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

NE 25th Avenue will be closed between NE 48th Lane and the Coral Ridge Country Club Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, June 17 through late 2024 for the installation of new sewer force main. Traffic control personnel will provide access to NE 25th Avenue residents. Drivers will be detoured to NE 24th Terrace, NE 49th Street and Bayview Drive.

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with David Mancini & Sons, Inc. to replace 10,000 feet of sewer force main along NE 25th Avenue from Commercial Boulevard to the Coral Ridge Country Club in the Coral Ridge Country Club Estates neighborhood. This project includes:

  • Installing new sewer force mains measuring 24-48 inches in diameter made from high-density polyethylene to replace the existing cast iron force mains
  • Connecting the new sewer force mains to nearby existing lines, including those along NE 49th Street and NE 48th Lane
  • Resurfacing the roadway as needed

Construction will begin on Monday, April 22, 2024, and is expected to be completed in spring 2025. Work will generally take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some overnight work may be required.

Crews will install the new sewer force mains utilizing a combination of open-cut and trenchless technology to expedite completion and minimize impacts to the community. This project is Phase 2 and 3 of sewer force main improvements in the area. Phase 2 will take place along NE 25th Avenue between Commercial Boulevard and NE 48th Lane. Crews will then continue Phase 3 along NE 25th Avenue from NE 48th Lane to the Coral Ridge Country Club. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts
  • NE 25th Avenue will be closed between Commercial Boulevard and NE 48th Lane Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, April 22 through early June 2024 for the installation of new sewer force main. Traffic control personnel will provide access to NE 25th Avenue residents. Drivers will be detoured to NE 24th Terrace, NE 48th Lane, NE 25th Avenue, NE 47th Street and NE 26th Avenue.
  • One lane in each direction of NE 25th Avenue between Commercial Boulevard and the Coral Ridge Country Club may be closed during construction. Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
