During the course of repairs on the bridge, City engineers discovered greater than expected deterioration of some of the support structures. To prevent further damage and as a public safety precaution, the bridge was closed for emergency repairs.

On August 18, 2014, new FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps went into effect. With the implementation of these new flood maps, we are also adopting higher regulatory standards for future development.
