Nighttime Enforcement

Is there a raucous party at the vacation rental next door keeping you awake on a Thursday?  Is a commercial vehicle parked in a residential neighborhood between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.?  The Nighttime Code Enforcement team can help. 

The Night Enforcement team is also tasked with ensuring businesses and residences along the beach are following the lighting rules that help protect our sea turtles. View Sea Turtle Lighting Enforcement for more information. 

The Nighttime Enforcement Stats includes the seventy-eight scheduled inspections, eighty proactive inspections, and twenty-five calls for services totaling one hundred and eighty-three inspections for the month of January conducted by our NET.

This team is available to address night enforcement concerns Thursday – Sunday from 5:30 pm – 3:00 am.

Waterway Enforcement

Fort Lauderdale Waterways provide a sense of place and identity for many of our residents and play a vital role in human health, well-being and development. In an effort to keep up the aesthetic beauty of our waterways, the Community Enhancement Division will be proactively enforcing city ordinances along the waterways and coastal properties.

Waterway officers’ patrols over 165 miles of public waters to maintain the safety and/or welfare of the residents of Fort Lauderdale. Vessels extending beyond the required waterway percentage, breaching of tidal waters along the seawall, seawalls in disrepair, along with derelict and/or abandoned vessels are a few of the issues our officers will be on the lookout for to ensure compliance within city limits.
