Welcome to the Zoning Division of the City of Fort Lauderdale!

Our main goal and responsibility of the Zoning Division is to serve the public good.  Every project is important to us and we strive to ensure the appropriate use and techniques of land development through enforcement of the Unified Land Development Code. In an effort to maintain exceptional service and allocate the resources needed to perform reviews and inspections in a timely manner, we are incorporating the following actions to provide our neighbors with the review and discussion time necessary to help streamline the Zoning review application process:

• We welcome walk-in inquires with less complex Zoning matters Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM- 10:00 AM.  
• General zoning questions, call 954-828-6520, option 5.

• Board of Adjustment (BOA)
  • To obtain a copy of the Board of Adjustment (BOA) application, Click here.

  • Prior to submitting your electronic Board of Adjustment (BOA) application and required documents on Lauderbuild, it is recommended that you meet with the BOA Liaison and staff to discuss your variance/special exception request.  To request a meeting with staff, click here. 
• Banner Sign Event Permit Application.  Note: Proof of City Commission approval is required when submitting a Banner Sign Event Permit application to hang event banner signs on designated utility poles.  For further assistance, please contact Chakila Crawford at chcrawford@fortlauderdale.gov
