 Engaging the Community as Stakeholders

Oatmeyer_CRR1
Community Risk Reduction Chief Dan Oatmeyer Educating Residents on Health Risks and Benefits
Right: NFPA Guides to Fire Safety; Below Right: The NFPA 1300 Standard

The City of Fort Lauderdale is dedicated to providing essential community-based services to residents and visitors. Our Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue offers a variety of programs that fit together like pieces of a puzzle to create a comprehensive package of services that bring the community together, prepare for disaster, benefit our youth, protect our elderly and disabled, and assist families in times of need.

NFPA 1300 standards (below right) are the requirements on the process to conduct a community risk assessment (CRA) and to develop, implement, and evaluate a community risk reduction (CRR) plan. The City of Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue as an agency is committed to ensuring your protection using this standard to assess and mitigate risk in the community.

Educating yourself and others about fire safety, ocean safety, injury prevention and disaster preparedness helps keep everyone safe. We encourage you and your family to participate in our educational programs.
